The Power to Stand Everyone faces challenges, but no one should be defined by them. Chris Norton, is a keynote speaker and author. Chris calls us to focus on response, instead of situation…to be defined by attitude rather than circumstance. We all have the ability to recognize the great power within us all, our inner strength which he calls, “The Power to Stand.” Chris inspires audiences as he shares life lessons learned after suffering a spinal cord injury playing college football and he was given just a 3% chance of regaining movement below his neck. After 4 years of intense training Chris proved he could beat those odds and celebrated by proudly walking across the stage of his college graduation to receive his diploma. His great accomplishment made worldwide news and was watched by tens of millions around the globe. Overcoming his adversity, Chris has been on a quest to pay it forward by sharing his story about The Power to Stand and by creating a nonprofit organization to improve the quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI) and other neuromuscular deficiencies. The SCI CAN Foundation was founded by Chris in 2012 and since, has raised over $500,000 in funds benefiting SCI patients.
